With the growing need for assistance for seniors either moving to smaller home or moving to a retirement, assisted or nursing home, there is a new profession that has been gaining popularity. Today, many adult children are living out of state and are often not able to help.

A Senior Move Manager is a professional who specializes in assisting older adults and their families with the emotional and physical aspects of moving. Although services vary from one company to another, most Senior Move Managers can help with some or all of the following:

  • Organizing, sorting and downsizing.
  • Arranging for removal of unwanted items (estate sales, donations, etc.).
  • Arranging storage.
  • Professional packing and unpacking.
  • Setting up the new home.
  • Floor Plans
  • Other services such as shopping, assisting with realtor and preparing home for sale.
