We are a non-profit (501c3) senior living community located in Chicago's Norwood Park neighborhood. Our residential campus specializes in assisted living, skilled nursing, rehab, respite stays, and memory support (including Alzheimer's and dementia care). For over 100 years, we have been dedicated to enhancing the independence and well-being of older adults.
nursing assisted livingOur licensed Assisted Living facilities are well-suited for residents who want private accommodations, but require some assistance with day-to-day tasks. We offer a variety of attractive residences in a comfortable, home-like setting. Individual abilities are taken into consideration when evaluating a resident's need for assistance with everyday activities such as bathing, dressing, transportation and taking medications. Professionally-trained nurses and nurses' assistants are available around-the-clock, to provide just the right amount of supportive care, while at the same time encouraging each person to remain as independent as possible.
Fees include delicious meals and snacks, participation in our wide-array of Life Enrichment activities, housekeeping, laundry and linen services along with a full schedule of special events and outings. As a resident, you'll enjoy a wide spectrum of activities, including book clubs, exercise programs, live entertainment, singing and a lively art program.
Alzheimer's Care and Our Memory Support Program
Norwood Crossing's memory support program is dedicated to meeting the daily needs of individuals in the middle to late stages of Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. Our compassionate staff is sensitive to the individual needs of our memory impaired residents and is committed to preserving the dignity and uniqueness of each person, and making them feel at home. Specially trained in dementia care, our Memory Support staff makes sure that your loved one receives the personalized care they deserve in a safe, secure and nurturing home-like environment.
Compassionate Skilled Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Care
Norwood Crossing, formerly Norwood Park Home, is also home to older adults in need of short or long-term skilled nursing care. Some residents stay at Norwood Crossing for a short time while they build up their strength and regain abilities after a hospitalization. With the focus on independence and a personalized approach to care, our rehabilitation and Medicare services offer a progressive and responsive senior rehabilitation program. Individuals utilizing our cutting-edge program may be recovering from many ailments such as a bad fall, heart attack, broken bones, or stroke. Our contracted therapists have created a proactive environment that uses the latest rehabilitation technology.
