Toys of the Century

Which Popular Toys Did You Want?

As a way to get into the holiday spirit, Alternatives for Seniors thought it would be fun to revisit some of the greatest toys of the last century. I'm sure most of us remember that one special toy we just had to have. The one we couldn't wait to get.

Depending on your age and what was popular at the time, it could have been any number of toys. Little Green Army Men? Red Rider Beebe Gun? Lincoln Logs? Cabbage Patch Kids?

Or did you spend countless hours running from store to store to find that all popular toy for your child or grandchild. In the days before the internet, many parents had to resort to finding the actual toy in a store. How many times did you have friends and family in other states looking for that same toy? Were you lucky enough to know someone who unloaded the trucks at the toy store? Or did you have to substitute that toy with a different toy or a generic version?

Ah, the holidays. Isn't it great.
